3,000th ACE Coach certifies

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- The Amateur Softball Association of America is pleased to recognize the 3,000 coach to register for the ACE program through the online platform. Paul Hennelly of Dacula, Ga., will receive a gift pack courtesy of the ASA for being the 3,000th member to register online! Hennelly is the coach of the ASA Major 12Under Wildcats of the Dacula Recreational League.

With a new online management and application process, coaches can watch the ACE Coaching Certification instructional videos and complete their certification tests at ace.usasoftball.com.

Hennelly is in his second year of coaching and found the program to be very helpful. He was actually required by his league to take the course and will be reimbursed for the expense. The League is requiring all coaches in the organization to take the course.

“I thought it was a great certification and very easy and convenient for me to use. I have a mix of new players and skilled players. It was helpful for me because I was able to build confidence for these new players by using methods such as whiffle ball to help ease their fears. I actually took the course the night before practice and changed my practice that night for the next day. It was so helpful and I look forward to taking the other courses as time goes one.”

The gift pack includes a set of DVD instructional tapes, USA and ASA apparel, magnets, posters, and much more! The ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) Coaching Certification Program is a certification program, developed and designed to provide softball coaches of all levels – from beginning coaches to experienced veterans – an opportunity to certify as a coach with the ASA.
